BT Diverse 5110 gone foreign!!! by Mike Brayshaw
The display on one of my four handsets has for some curious reason switched from English to some foreign language. There's no mention in the handbook of it having this international flavour. Any ideas please to restore it to normal?

Extensions Keep Ringing After Pick-up by Robert Dunleavey
Hi I new to this forum so please excuse me if I'm posting incorrctly. Looking for some help with our Orchid KS416 PBX. We have a number of wired and DECT extensions. We've set up 3 particular extensions to ring upon an incoming call from Line 1. These three extensions (1 x wired on 201, 2 x DECT 202 and 203) are all pretty close together. The problem is when a call is taken on any of the...

A number to call 30 times a quarter by Gaffer
My phonebill says: "A condition of the Connection Charge Special Offer" is that you make at least 30 chargeable or inclusive calls per quarter. I don't think I'm going to do that, so I need a landline that I can call, wait for an answer, hangup and redial, 30 times. It would be rude to abuse a human in this way, so can anyone suggest a suitable landline number to call that will be answered...

Cost of calling 00800 numbers? by Paul Burgin
Hi, Could someone please clarify how much it should cost to call 00800 numbers from a land line? Specifically a BT one. I've dialed several of these numbers using CPW talktalk and have been charged 5p/min for them. But I thought they were freephone numbers? I'm pretty sure they were advertised as 'toll free' by the companies I dialed.

Script that will uninstall Avaya Phone Manager by [email protected]
I need to write a script that will uninstall Avaya Phone Manager on about 100 machines. It is not practical for me to manually do this. I will probably need to use psexec to run this if that helps. Thanks in advance.

Automated Premium Rate Callback Spam/Fraud by brightsp
Hi Telecoms Banter people, I am a TB forum newbie, and not a telecoms expert, so please bear with me. My parents are having a problem with their phone service. Except for the phone/fax (a newish Brother) they have all services and kit from BT, so that means BT DECT phones, a BT digital answerphone (a Response 50 I think), BT Total Broadband etc. My parents live alone, are elderly but fully...

Telecoms Banter by Tier1
The title of the website seems a bit misleading...so how about we have some telecoms banter? I'll start of with a Telecoms joke a colleague of mine created: CPS and IDA are late for a meeting. "Why are you late?" asked WLR. They replied, "There was just so much traffic" Wahey!

Versatility AutoAttendant card - HUGE problem by waterlou
I'm office mgr for a small charity which uses Versatility. I'm expected to make the phone system work properly. It doesn't. Callers can't leave messages. Problem started when my predecessor purchased the system without AutoAttendant, to save money. He used a BT Response ansafone with an analogue handset. It never worked well - callers would get diverted to ansafone if the first handset was...

NEC XN120 Auto Attendant by Lectrician
Hi all. I am currently having a fiddle with the voicemail card on an XN120, more experimental than anything else, but I am not getting too far! Under incoming call setup (22-02), for trunk 1, I change from NORMAL to VRS. Under DUD/DISA setup (25-02), for mode 1, I set talkie-type to VAU, with additional data set to 1 (message 01). Under one Digit Code Setup (25-06), I set digit 1 to goto...
